Account deletion
Worthic allows users to request deletion of their account through the product. This page explains how account deletion works, what happens after a deletion request is confirmed, and how to contact us if you cannot access your account.
How to delete your account in the web app
To request account deletion from the Worthic web app:
1. Sign in to Worthic.
2. Open the account console.
3. Go to your account or profile settings.
4. Select Delete account.
5. Enter the email address linked to your Worthic account to confirm the request.
6. Approve the deletion request on your trusted Worthic mobile approval device.
Account deletion is treated as a sensitive action. Worthic requires confirmation and mobile two-factor approval before starting the deletion period.
How to delete your account from the mobile app
To request account deletion from the Worthic mobile app:
1. Open the Worthic mobile app.
2. Go to Settings.
3. Open the account settings area.
4. Select Delete account.
5. The mobile app will open the secure Worthic web confirmation flow.
6. Complete the web confirmation and approve the two-factor request on your trusted mobile device.
The mobile app may also show a Cancel account deletion option if your account is already pending deletion.
What happens after you request deletion
When account deletion is confirmed, Worthic places your account into a 14-day pending deletion period. During this period, normal workspace access is blocked, but you may still sign in to the account console to export available data before the deletion period ends.
If you own workspaces, those workspaces are also scheduled for deletion. Other users may lose access to workspaces owned by you. If you want another user to keep access, transfer workspace ownership before requesting account deletion.
If you have an active subscription, Worthic may cancel or schedule cancellation of the subscription as part of the account deletion process. Account deletion does not automatically create a refund unless required by law or separately agreed by Worthic.
Cancelling a deletion request
You can cancel an account deletion request before the 14-day pending deletion period ends. If cancellation is available, sign in to the account console or mobile account settings and select Cancel account deletion. Worthic will restore the account to active status and may restore owned workspaces that were scheduled for deletion as part of the account deletion request.
What data is deleted or retained
After the pending deletion period ends, Worthic schedules eligible account and workspace data for deletion or de-identification from active production systems. This may include account profile data, workspace access, workspace records, documents, extracted data, settings, and other data associated with the account, subject to the limits below.
Worthic may retain limited information where reasonably necessary for legal, tax, accounting, billing, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution, audit, backup, compliance, or legitimate business purposes. Backup copies and logs may persist for a limited period before being deleted or overwritten through normal operational schedules.
Deleting a workspace without deleting your account
Users may delete a workspace from within Worthic without deleting their Worthic account. Workspace deletion removes the workspace and the data associated with that workspace, while allowing the user’s account to remain available for any other workspaces they own or are invited to use.
To delete a workspace:
1. Sign in to Worthic.
2. Open the workspace settings from the workspace card for the workspace that you want to delete.
3. Choose the workspace deletion option.
4. Complete the required security confirmation.
When you delete a workspace, Worthic immediately disables access to that workspace and schedules the workspace data and documents for permanent deletion after a 14-day retention window. During that 14-day period, the data is retained to allow export and recovery.
After the retention window, Worthic’s production systems delete or de-identify the workspace data and documents. Some limited records may remain for a period where needed for backups, logs, audit records, billing records, security records, legal holds, or compliance obligations, and those are deleted or overwritten according to operational schedules.
Deleting a workspace is separate from account deletion. If a user wants all account-level data deleted as well, they should use the account deletion option in account settings, or contact Worthic support.
If you cannot access your account
If you cannot sign in or cannot access the deletion controls, contact [email protected] from the email address linked to your Worthic account and request account deletion. We may need to verify your identity and authority before acting on the request.
