Worthic combines artificial intelligence with rules-based processing to reduce manual work across documents, transactions and financial analysis. AI is used as an assistant: it can identify patterns, suggest actions and explain information, but it does not replace your judgement or automatically turn uncertain results into final accounting decisions.
Document processing
When you upload a bank statement, invoice, receipt or another supported document, Worthic may use AI to interpret the content. Depending on the file, this can include:
- reading text and tables from scanned or digital documents;
- identifying the document type;
- extracting dates, parties, references, currencies, amounts and balances;
- finding potential transaction rows; and
- suggesting the most suitable account, reporting line or document location.
Worthic also uses deterministic methods—such as direct spreadsheet parsing, document text extraction and reconciliation rules—where exact values are available. AI and deterministic evidence are combined so that the system is not relying on a language model alone.
Transaction extraction and categorization
AI may turn information found in a document into transaction candidates for review. It can suggest transaction descriptions, amounts, dates, categories and related accounts. Existing categorization rules and previously confirmed patterns may also be used to improve consistency.
A suggestion is not necessarily a completed ledger entry. Where review is required, Worthic presents the extracted transaction as a candidate so that you can confirm, correct or reject it. This is especially important when a transaction is ambiguous, split across categories or linked to tax-sensitive treatment.
Classification, routing and confidence
Worthic can classify documents and suggest where they belong within the workspace. For example, it may identify a file as a bank statement and associate it with a particular financial account and reporting period.
AI-assisted results can carry confidence and reasoning signals. When the evidence is weak, incomplete or conflicting, Worthic may lower the confidence, request review or leave the item unresolved rather than silently guessing. Validation checks can also compare extracted transactions with opening and closing balances to identify possible omissions or inconsistencies.
Worthic AI assistant
The Worthic assistant helps you work with information already available in your authorised workspace. It can answer questions, explain figures, summarise records, locate relevant information and guide you through Worthic workflows.
The assistant may use specialized tools to retrieve workspace data before answering. Its access remains subject to your workspace permissions; it cannot use the assistant to bypass access controls. Some answers can be produced directly from verified records or calculations, while AI is used to make the response easier to understand.

Insights and review support
AI may assist with summaries, anomaly signals, review notes and workflow recommendations. This can help highlight items that deserve attention, such as unclear categorization, unusual data or incomplete document processing.
These signals are intended to help you focus your review. They are not a guarantee that an item is incorrect, nor are they professional accounting, tax, legal, audit, compliance or investment advice.

Human control and corrections
You remain responsible for final categories, ledger records, reports, tax treatment and business decisions. Worthic is designed to keep AI-assisted outputs reviewable so you can:
- inspect the source document and extracted information;
- accept, edit or reject suggested transactions;
- correct classifications and routing;
- resolve low-confidence or reconciliation issues; and
- verify reports before relying on them.
Your confirmed choices may support more consistent rule-based processing within the product, but uncertain AI output should always be treated as a suggestion.
Privacy and safeguards
Worthic may send the minimum relevant document content, extracted text, metadata, transaction descriptions or workspace context to approved AI-processing providers when an AI feature is used. Processing is governed by Worthic’s privacy, security and data-processing controls.
Worthic does not use customer documents, financial data or workspace content to train third-party foundation models or general AI models unless the customer explicitly opts in. AI features also respect workspace roles and permissions, and operational controls can disable or restrict AI services if necessary.

What to remember
AI in Worthic is there to accelerate repetitive work and make financial information easier to understand. The best results come from combining AI assistance, deterministic validation and user review. Always verify material figures, classifications and decisions against the original records, and consult a qualified professional where appropriate.
