Targets and Goals help turn Worthic’s financial data into measurable objectives. Open Insights → Goals and targets to view them.
A Target is a recurring metric for the current reporting period, for example, maintaining a minimum savings rate or keeping expenses below a limit. A Goal is a longer-term outcome, such as reaching a net-worth figure, reducing debt or building retirement assets.
Worthic calculates the current result from your transactions, reporting lines, accounts, investments, liabilities and property data. Each card shows the objective, current value, included scope and status. Creating, editing or deleting a Target or Goal does not change the underlying financial records.
Available Targets
Monthly Targets can measure:
- Savings rate: the minimum share of period income retained.
- Net cashflow: the minimum income remaining after expenses.
- Income: the minimum income expected for the period.
- Expenses: the maximum permitted spending.
- Net rental income: rental income after directly linked rental expenses.
- Operating income: real-estate operating income before financing and owner distributions.
- Occupancy rate: occupied nights as a percentage of available nights.
The last three are available for real-estate reporting lines. Seasonal real-estate Targets can also be set separately by month, allowing different expectations for busy and quiet periods.
Available Goals
Long-term Goals can track net worth, total assets and investments, liquidity, retirement assets, debt balance and real-estate equity. Most aim to reach at least the selected amount. Debt balance works in the opposite direction: progress means reducing debt to or below the chosen limit.
Setting a Target or Goal
From Insights → Goals and targets:
1. In Targets – Monthly metrics, select Add to create a Target; or in Goals – Longer-term focus items, select Add to create a Goal.
2. Choose the Target or Goal type.
3. Enter the amount or percentage.
4. Set the start date for a Target or the target date for a Goal. The retirement target date is optional.
5. Choose the reporting lines to include.
6. Where offered, choose the accounts to include. Worthic filters the list to relevant account types—for example, liabilities for a debt Goal or investment accounts for retirement.
7. For seasonal property Targets, select Set by month to enter individual monthly values.
8. Select Save target or Save goal.
Use the edit icon on a card to change its value, date or scope. Use the delete icon to remove the card; this does not delete transactions, accounts or reporting lines. Users need the appropriate editing permission to add, change or delete objectives.
Tracking progress
Worthic continuously compares each objective with its current calculated value. Monthly Target cards show whether the current period is on track, while Goal cards show the amount remaining or confirm that the Goal has been accomplished. Retirement Goals also show the time remaining until the target date.
Select the graph icon on any card to compare actual values with the Target or Goal over time. For monthly Targets, the chart uses reporting-period history and can reflect month-specific values. For long-term Goals, it compares the latest calculated position with the saved objective. Keeping transactions, balances, valuations, ownership percentages and reporting-line links current will make these progress measures more reliable.
